Leadership

Fr. Spitzer has studied leaders and leadership for twenty years. He has been a consultant to many large and small companies (including Boeing, Toyota, and Costco), has worked closely with The Pacific Institute (Seattle, WA), and has given international presentations to many groups including Tony Blair's Cabinet in London, the leadership of Costa Rica, to the Catholic and Protestant leadership in Northern Ireland, and to the Orthodox Church in Russia.

In addition to being president of Gonzaga University since 1998, he participates in the governing boards of the Spokane Chamber of Commerce, the Spokane Economic Development Council, the Association of Washington Business, and the Spokane Higher Education Leadership Group.

In addition to many articles on leadership, he has published a book entitled, The Spirit of Leadership: Optimizing Creativity and Change in Organizations, (Provo, Utah: Executive Excellence, 2000). Spitzer gives approximately 130 speeches per year to the leadership of various organizations, and participates in three leadership programs at Gonzaga University.
